Job Summary

The Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) uses their knowledge, skill and judgement in imaging technique and skill as well as radiation emitting equipment, together with an extensive knowledge of the principles of anatomy, physiology and pathology, image acquisition, treatment and radiation protection to deliver high quality care to their patients.

The MRT ensures the care provided is safe, appropriate, tailored, timely, and maximizes the potential of the available equipment and resources.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Diploma or Degree in Medical Radiation Sciences, Radiography from an accredited educational institution.
  2. CMRITO mandatory, MRT (R)
  3. OAMRS highly recommended.
  4. Current BCLS.
  5. Successful completion of IV contrast media injection course/experience required.
  6. Training in cross sectional anatomy.
  7. Three (3) years experience in a hospital setting in Radiography and minimum one (1) year experience in CT. 
  8. Proven knowledge of ALARA and radiation safety.

Hours of Work:  In order to provide the necessary patient care, our operations run 24/7.  There is the expectation that you are available to work weekdays, weekends and all shifts (days, nights, 12 hour shifts).
