Job Summary

Assemble and serve patient meals.

Clean and ensure cleanliness and aseptic conditions in assigned areas and stock dish room.

  • Student under the age of 18 and currently enrolled at least in grade 11 required.
  • Food Handler Training Certificate is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Best Practices for Prevention and Control of Infection in Health Care Settings
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office 
  • Proven ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written English instructions.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position (standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting).
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workloads and manage stressful work environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and willingness to be flexible to meet department needs.
  • Demonstrated commitment to, and understanding of the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion.
  • Demonstrated appreciation and respect for protocol, professionalism and confidentiality.

Hours of Work:  Seven days a week availability with shifts from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm (up to 3 shifts per week)

Other:  All job offers will require compliance with our COVID-19 Vaccination Policy for proof of full vaccination (two doses) unless provided with a medical exemption or an accommodation under the Ontario Human Rights Code.

 

As part of our mandatory screening process, the Hospital will require professional references, verification of academic training and professional accreditation along with a current criminal record check.
